Oh, Give Thanks!

Oh Give Thanks! In All Circumstances

Hey Friend,

It is November! I don’t know about you but every year I try my best to get some rest before November comes because the next 8 weeks are just nonstop. This year that didn’t happen and I am limping into this holiday season a little unprepared.

So what’s new with me? Well, so much has happened since I last contacted you. I am still in my season of growth and being tested– but aren’t we always in a growth season? If we are constantly seeking God then we must constantly grow and become better.

Last month I attended the iEmancipateMe in Annapolis, MD. The conference discussed topics we are all concerned about, health, finances, education, and building businesses. Emancipate means to become free and that’s exactly what happened to me. Prior to the conference I was second guessing myself and that I was in a room with people on much bigger platforms than me, and I would be overlooked. One day I would be confident in my own skin and other days I would be so insecure. But, that day I was reassured that when you walk in light, when you walk in God-fidence, and when you walk in your purpose nothing can stop you. I freed myself from myself. I learned that I should never be intimated by anyone on bigger platforms because he/she can help me along the way. For that lesson, I am thankful. I am also thankful for the connections that I met and for Pastor Belinda Emona’s vision of such a conference. It was an exciting time!

Things are moving and rearranging and each day I stand in awe of God’s grace. Apart from it I am nothing, and with it I am everything. I am thankful for that. I am thankful for the season I am in in my marriage. Marriage is nothing short of a constant work in progress. And, while I will definitely share our pain one day, it will be a better story once we have a testimony. But, this is my growth season as I am truly learning the meaning of being thankful in all circumstances. I thought I knew it when I faced hardship, unemployment, the loss of loved ones, but it has taken new meaning now.

I am also thankful for the opportunity to be in a book collaboration Igniting your Faith Factor. Eight women came together to write their own stories of how to Ignite your Faith Factor. It will be available this month. It would be a great stocking stuffer! How many of us believe God can do exceedingly and abundantly for other people, but have a hard time applying that same faith in our own situation? I have been there. Together, we can help each other transform into unstoppable faith warriors!

One of the reasons I Share My Mess is to help you know that you are not alone. Often times the devil will try to make you think you are alone, because he wants to separate you from others. We are so much more powerful in numbers. Alone, we become destructive and unproductive. We weren’t made to be alone. But, often times our situations make us feel like we are isolated. That’s a lie! Whatever situation you are going with, whatever pain you are facing, remember Jesus loves you and that’s another reason I am thankful. You should be also. In all things, even the small things, Give Thanks!

Peace & Joy in Christ,
